THE FOCUS ON THE CHILDREN MISSION STATEMENT * To prevent early childhood trauma by providing a proven successful combination of childcare services, parent mentoring, and parent empowerment to homeless families with infants and young toddlers and to families escaping domestic violence. * To empower, support and encourage homeless parents as they work toward strengthening their family. * To encourage the positive developmental progress of homeless infants and young toddlers and to foster healthy attachment between parent and child. * To create a direct and positive community impact by reducing long term social dependency by encouraging parents to design their own program including goal setting, family strengthening, and positive parenting. * To build a renewed sense of community by encouraging community members, businesses, groups and schools to reclaim personal responsibility for the health and well being of homeless families with very small children in their local communities.
