A consideration when thinking about a manufactured homes is some lenders such as VA, and to a lesser extent FHA require they be fitted with tie downs and runners. To meet VA requirements anywhere from
$1500 to $3000 can be incurred to meet VA standards. FHA requirements are not so demanding and the cost here is usually $800 -$1500 depending on the quality of the foundations. Conventional lenders are not so concerned about this. However it's important to ensure that any additions to the manufactured homes ( rooms or porches added on) have been approved by Labor & Industry. The seller should present you with written evidence of this approval.
